A minute between board posts?

on another site I go to, on their forums you are unable to post more than one post in a minute. this means that people do not multiple post to topics or post the same topic multiple times as often happens on here because if you press the post topic button more than once in a minute it simply does not allow the second post to be made and shows you an error message with an explanation as to why. So I thought it would be a good idea if this was implemented on here - often it happens that a user posts and becomes impatient when the page does not refresh immediately and he/she then presses the "post" button several times and thus we get the same reply to topics multiple times. this would stop this from happening - any thoughts?

Good idea sb.
You could even take this idea a little bit further and compare the post you're just about to make to the last post made by that person (I mean if you are the site admin) with a simple string compare. If the ost is a multiple of a periously o posted one, then you won't allow it. It takes up just a little bit of server time but the posts are so short that it should not lead to any loss in performance and it should completely cut out the multiple posts posts or the the repetition of posts, repetition of posts, unless it's within the same post post <grin>

but lots of times, if you tell a cl, or an admin, they'll fix it

agreed on both sides:

SB, you have a point. If you hit post multiple times you'll either get a duplicate (it's happened to me already) post of what you did OR a error message.

Yankee, you also have a valid point. If you find a duplicate post just locate the post number in that topic and report it by filling the form out and a admin/cl will remove it for you.

Either way I'm in favor of.
